Quick Start
advanTRAK's setup program may be launched from the advanTRAK CD or from downloaded installation files.
TO INSTALL FROM CD Insert the disc into your drive to begin the installation. If the installation does not start automatically, then you may manually launch the Setup.exe file located at the root level of the CD.
TO INSTALL FROM DOWNLOADED ZIP ARCHIVE Unzip all files into a directory on your PC or network, then launch the Setup.exe file to begin installation.
Once installed, you may start to use advanTRAK immediately to manage and track inventory. The default installation allows up to 30 day of use before registering your software. Once the software is registered, and your purchase is validated, you'll recieve a registration code that will allow you to fully activate the software.
Software Installation
1) Launch Setup.exe from CD or unzipped directory as outlined above.
2) Choose US English (MM/DD/YYYY) or British English (DD/MM/YYYY) date format.
3) Select Single or Multi-User option and accept the agreement on the next screen.

4) Select installation directory (recommended Default selection) and click "Next".
5) If you would like to add a shortcut icon, select the options below, then click "Next".

6) Under Windows Vista, when you receive the message below, click the "RUN PROGRAM" button.

7) When installation is complete, click"Finish".
8) Windows 2000 and XP Users: Double click on the advanTRAK desktop icon to launch advanTRAK.
9) Windows Vista Users: Right click on the advanTRAK desktop icon and select "Run as Administrator". When prompted with the Windows Vista User Account Control dialog, click "Allow". WINDOWS VISTA USERS, PLEASE NOTE: With standard UAC settings, you must launch advanTRAK each time as noted above. Simply double-clicking on the desktop icon will cause your login to fail.

Initial Login
From the Login Account screen, type admin for username and admin for password.

****** Advanced Setup is for Network Users ******
advanTRAK Network User SQL setup (Advanced Setup) To connect and login to a remote advanTRAK SQL database that has been previously installed on your network, choose "Advanced Setup" button, then click the Remote Database radio button.
For the remote Database Server Account, the User ID is sa and the password is advanTRAK123.

If you are unsure of the network path to your remote advanTRAK SQL database, choose the "Search for SQL Instances" button to launch the SQL Instance Tool, which will allow you to view available local and network SQL Server instances.

Choose "Search", then wait a moment for system to display available servers. Double click on an available SQL Server to populate the Server Host field in the previous window, then close the SQL Instance Tool. Contact your network or system administrator if you are unsure which SQL Server has been set up as your advanTRAK server.
Select "Connect & Save Setting" button when finished.
